When I was about ten years old, my dad gave me my first Nikon. He would take me out to Coconut Grove and we would just shoot anything and everything. Decades later, I still shoot with a Nikon and still love to shoot anything and everything with my dad.
So this is my point. Would this have been my life long passion and career, if he hadn't done that at such a young age? Would I have found photography as my way to express what I see? Who knows, but I am thankful he did.
What we show our children now, does impact them later on in life. I too gave my son a video camera at 10 years old, now at 28, he has a side career as a videographer. My daughter loved to play with an old typewriter, play office and answer the phones. She at 32 is an office manager and runs a big company! My youngest every night was the one who loved to cook with me, at 24 she is not a chef, but probably could give some of the top chefs around a run for their money!
Plant a seed in them young and watch them grow, its amazing!
